Why did join the Owl's Nest Farm CSA?
I was looking for a CSA that was reasonably priced, with a convient pick-up location and I found Owl's Nest on Google. For me the added bonus was the work-share option. I contacted Liz immediately and began volunteering shortly thereafter. The work-share is a great option for anyone looking to get out of the city, get dirty, learn more about farming, or just to get free vegetables!
What was your favorite fruit, veggie, and/or herb from CSA this year?
Defintely the pea shoots!
Tell us about any new veggies you tried in 2017.
I had never heard of Ground Cherries before I had them as part of my CSA share. Delicious!
What tips do you have for folks who might be trying a CSA for the first time?
Don't be scared to try new fruits and vegetables. If you get something you've never tried before, find a cookbook or crowdsource recipes from friends and test it out. Worst case scenario, pretty much everything can go into an Asian Stir-Fry!
